HAND WOVEN TURKISH CARPETS. KILIMS AND SOMETIMES CERAMICS
Hi, thanks for your interest in our hand woven Turkish carpets and Kilims Goddess Enterprises is owned and operated by James Goddess and Amy Williams. We collected these fine carpets on our travels to Turkey last summer. We hope you will enj6y them as much as we do. All of our merchandise has been hand selected by us, we did not select anything that wouldn't be acceptable to put in our own homes or the homes or businesses of our friends and family. All carpets were bought from small Turkish carpet shops or directly from the village where they were produced. We were lucky enough to visit some small, village carpet weaving co-ops which were formed by the villagers themselves. The carpet co-ops were great family run businesses and we didn't see any unethical practices such as child labor.

We love all of the pieces we brought home any of them would be a fabulous addition to your home weather a collector or a first time buyer. These fine hand woven. carpets are not only a fine home furnishing but a piece of art, an heirloom, something to be passed on through the generations. The carpets we have are so affordable they are a great way for someone to enter the collectors }Vorld and are also an incredible investment. The production of handcrafted products is on the decline as it is in much of the world due to the modernization of so many 2nd and 3rd world nations. Jim saw a noticeable decrease in the quality of many of the items offered for sale just in the 3 years since his last trip also quite a jump iu prices. The quality and beauty over a machine made carpet is astonishing, our carpet will last for generations were as with a machine made carpet you will be lucky to have it for 2 decades. I've replaced my machine woven carpets due to unraveling & burns (synthetics melt natural fibers don't) One of favorite carpet dealers (much to my dismay) put cigarette ash on a white, silk carpet and the ashes brushed off like nothing had been there, it also worked on the wool.

We have been offering carpet shows in our Northern California, they are very enjoyable wine and, I'm constantly amazed at peoples reactions when they put a carpet down and it works perfectly in their space, these customers always buy 2-4 pieces and the aesthetics of their home is dramatically improved. Many of our clients build the color scheme of their room around the wonderful palates offered by our carpet. We also offer to take special orders, we recommend choosing paint chips. in the color scheme desired as well as a picture of a similar style to aid us in choosing the perfect carpet for you. CLEANING OF THE CARPETS:
All of our carpets are easily cared for, professional cleaning can be used but is not required. Our carpet dealer in Istanbul insisted that they could be cleaned with warm water and baby shampoo on a warm summer day and dried flat in the un (never hang to dry!). I was hesitant to try it for fear of the natural dies running, especially onto light colors. When we arrived home we tried it on some carpets that Jim had acquired on previous trips to Turkey. We were shocked, they ended up looking brand new and dried in one day. Don't be afraid to use them they are made to be used and it helps keep the colors fresh and-bright.
